Alex Williamson - Oi Mate!
The Loosest Aussie Bloke, Alex Williamson is back with another crushing hour of pure, uncut comedy platinum. A comedy festival isn’t complete without an aggressive Australian telling jokes in a hilariously threatening manner, baring all with the type of truth usually reserved for therapy sessions. Enter the mind of Shooter if you dare – as he breaks down walls with his bare hands (metaphorical bricks on the walls of social norms, he’s not doing house reno’s).
Since starting out in stand-up 2007 this country South Australian lad has made a global name for himself – from living in LA back in the day, where he was somehow entrusted to attend events and interview A-List celebs on the red carpet for FOX FM, to being flown back there some ten years later to shoot with comedy legend Sacha Baron Cohen to starring in a zombie movie with Jim Jefferies and selling out Australian, Edinburgh Fringe and New Zealand seasons year after year.
Allow (internet) famous comedian Alex Williamson (1.3mil Facebook, 500K Instagram, 645k YouTube, 17 Tinder) & his crude yet sharp persona to make you laugh, think, & possibly even cry (if he squirrel grips a front row patron). You know the drill – book early mates!
Hilarious… the Aussie comic has well and truly earned his rave reputation– The Speakeasy (NZ)
It is a massive relief to find a bloke like Alex Williamson – laidback, punchy, charismatic, fearless and provocative – as hilarious as it is appalling. I hope he never mellows– The Scotsman (UK)
His observational humour should serve as a very necessary kick in the bollocks to many of his overexposed predecessors. This is how a modern comic mind SHOULD work… there’s no doubt he’s leaving his status as cult hero in his raucous wake, There’s no need for compromise with such a keen eye, wicked mind and razor-sharp tongue.★★★★ – The Herald Sun

🚨SUPPORT FOR Melbourne International Comedy Festival ARTISTS🚨
With the devastating cancellations of comedy festivals and gigs around the country, the livelihoods of thousands of entertainment industry workers are now under threat. The arts & entertainment industries have always been the first to step up and donate their skills to fund-raisers, with everyone from artists, lighting & tech staff to ushers, front of house, box office, production teams and more often being among the first that people turn to, and the first to offer to raise funds for the community in times of need
Kind Comedy Festival patrons have been contacting the festival suggesting that they would like to donate the value of their purchased tickets back to the show rather than receive a refund. Enough kind patrons that MICF have put a system in place.
If you purchased your ticket directly through the Festival website, and rather than a refund, you would like all or a percentage of the value of your tickets to continue to go to the artist please advise our Box Office team at email@example.com.
If you wish to make a contribution to support artists across these difficult times (as an alternative to or in place of a ticket purchased) then you can do so through their show page here on comedyfestival.com.au. Simply search for the artist/show you would like to support and add as many “$5 tickets” to your basket for their Sunday 19 April “performance”.
Thank you for your support and we’ll see you back at shows as soon as possible.
Stay healthy & hygienic!
