Annie & Bianka (We Want To Be Better) - Mother’s Daughters
You know what they say, “Mother Knows Best”… but does she really? In their debut stand-up comedy show, Annie Nolan and Bianka Thompson recount all the advice their Mums have given them over the years and look at how it has shaped them as women. As children we take so much of what our mothers say as Gospel but maybe we should actually question their reasoning sometimes. Is Mum really that intuitive? Does Mum really know best or is she faking it like the rest of us? Should you hope to be an apple that falls really far away from the tree? Let Annie and Bianka decide for you.
Well known for their up-punching We Want To Be Better podcast, Annie Nolan & Bianka Thompson have made it their life mission to joyfully improving and educating themselves and their community of listeners on everything from body-positivity, carbon footprint reduction, keeping cool on a hot day – and they do it all while never, never punching down. Their hilarious, well-researched and thoughtfully written conversations have earned them a loyal fanbase who have kept them a mainstay in the iTunes Top 50. The stand-up comedy debut from these hilarious & inspirational babes promises to offer all that and more!
With 25K+ downloads a month, they’ve hit #1 on the iTunes charts and have 120K+ combined followers across social media.
Join Annie and Bianka and their fan-base of people actively pursuing betterment when the We Want To Be Better girls hit the stage in their stand-up comedy debut. Tickets are not expected to last long!

🚨 SUPPORT FOR Melbourne International Comedy Festival ARTISTS 🚨
With the devastating cancellations of comedy festivals and gigs around the country, the livelihoods of thousands of entertainment industry workers are now under threat. The arts & entertainment industries have always been the first to step up and donate their skills to fund-raisers, with everyone from artists, lighting & tech staff to ushers, front of house, box office, production teams and more often being among the first that people turn to, and the first to offer to raise funds for the community in times of need
Kind Comedy Festival patrons have been contacting the festival suggesting that they would like to donate the value of their purchased tickets back to the show rather than receive a refund. Enough kind patrons that MICF have put a system in place.
If you purchased your ticket directly through the Festival website, and rather than a refund, you would like all or a percentage of the value of your tickets to continue to go to the artist please advise our Box Office team at email@example.com.
If you wish to make a contribution to support artists across these difficult times (as an alternative to or in place of a ticket purchased) then you can do so through their show page here on comedyfestival.com.au. Simply search for the artist/show you would like to support and add as many “$5 tickets” to your basket for their Sunday 19 April “performance”.
Thank you for your support and we’ll see you back at shows as soon as possible.
Stay healthy & hygienic!
