Tanya Hennessy - Hurricane Hennessy
Comedy queen, content creator, broadcaster, best-selling author, TV presenter and carb-loving make-up doyenne Tanya Hennessy made her live touring debut when she joined forces to perform with Christian Hull in 2019. Now she is ready to go it alone as she returns from her scene-stealing stint in the South African jungle on I’m a Celebrity, Get me Out Of Here! to make her solo stand-up comedy debut at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival!
Tanya’s hilariously engaging and relatable take on life have seen her earn over 600 million views on Facebook and a loyal following of 1.5 million across social media. The award-winning breakfast radio host has taken out TWO gongs at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs), including Best Entertainment Presenter. With regular appearances on The Project, The Morning Show, Studio Ten, Bachelor Unpacked, The Loop and Celebrity Name Game, Tanya’s first book Am I Doing this Right? was a best-seller, and she’s now in the process of writing her second book with Allen & Unwin. The RUOK? Day ambassador and Cosmo Woman Of The Year nominee has expanded her dynasty to take on a carb-themed make-up range. Seriously though, how good is bread?!!
Don’t miss the love child of Amy Schumer and Rebel Wilson when she makes her live performance debut at MICF!

🚨 SUPPORT FOR Melbourne International Comedy Festival ARTISTS 🚨
With the devastating cancellations of comedy festivals and gigs around the country, the livelihoods of thousands of entertainment industry workers are now under threat. The arts & entertainment industries have always been the first to step up and donate their skills to fund-raisers, with everyone from artists, lighting & tech staff to ushers, front of house, box office, production teams and more often being among the first that people turn to, and the first to offer to raise funds for the community in times of need
Kind Comedy Festival patrons have been contacting the festival suggesting that they would like to donate the value of their purchased tickets back to the show rather than receive a refund. Enough kind patrons that MICF have put a system in place.
If you purchased your ticket directly through the Festival website, and rather than a refund, you would like all or a percentage of the value of your tickets to continue to go to the artist please advise our Box Office team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you wish to make a contribution to support artists across these difficult times (as an alternative to or in place of a ticket purchased) then you can do so through their show page here on comedyfestival.com.au. Simply search for the artist/show you would like to support and add as many “$5 tickets” to your basket for their Sunday 19 April “performance”.
Thank you for your support and we’ll see you back at shows as soon as possible.
Stay healthy & hygienic!
