Megan Norris

Megan Norris is a UK-trained journalist and multiple award-winning true crime author who has covered some of Australia’s most notorious crimes for national and international media.

Her first book, Perfect Victim, published by Penguin and co-authored with Elizabeth Southall, is now a movie (In Her Skin), starring Sam Neill, Miranda Otto, and Guy Pearce.

Her release Out of the Ashes (Big Sky) which follows the extraordinary survival story of Bali bomb survivor, Therese Fox won the 2023 Sisters in Crime Australia Davitt Award for best non-fiction and was short-listed for a Ned Kelly Award by the Australian Crime Writers Association.

Megan’s updated 2015 Davitt Award-winning book, Look What You Made Me Do which examines nine separate crimes of retaliatory filicide was re-released in August and featured over six episodes on Mama Mia’s True Crime Conversations podcast as well as True Crime Cheat Sheet podcast.

Megan’s books have been featured on 60 Minutes, Seven’s Sunday Night, Ten’s The Project, ABC’s Nightlife, the BBC, and have made the front covers of the Australian Women’s Weekly, Marie Claire and Who Weekly. They have also made front cover news in the USA, UK and Germany.

A former winner of the Eliminating Violence Against  Women Awards for shining a spotlight on domestic violence in media, Megan has been a keynote speaker at international women’s day business breakfasts, at Bond University and on various crime writing panels.

She continues to write crime features and books from a dodgy ironing board in her spare room on Queensland’s Gold Coast.
